Chemical peels are a skin treatment used to improve the appearance and texture of the skin by applying a chemical solution to the skin's surface.
This treatment can be customized to target various skin concerns, such as acne, fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation, and uneven skin tone. The peels use in the Prior Skin Co Clinic include alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) or beta hydroxy acids (BHAs), to gently exfoliate the outer layer of the skin and leave you feeling radiant.

How long does treatment take?
Once the consent process is completed, the treatment generally takes 15-20 minutes.
Your appointment will be 30-45 minutes in length.

How long does the treatment last?
You will usually notice results approximately one week post your treatment.
It is recommended to undergo course of treatments dependant upon your skin concern in order to achieve best results.
After an initial course of treatment, results can be maintained with home skincare and occasional in Clinic treatment.

Is there any downtime?
These Chemical Peels do not require any downtime, however it is important to use sun protection after the treatment.
Swelling, redness and minor skin sensitivity may be present post treatment for 24 hours.
You may feel dry and noice some superficial peeling within one week post your Chemical peel.

AFTERCARE
Keep the area clean and makeup free the day of treatment.

Avoid exercise for the rest of the day post treatment.
​​
Do not touch or rub the treated area.
​​
Avoid facial treatments, massage, facial waxing, for 2 weeks.
​
Avoid active skincare and do not reintroduce these ingredients for 3-5 days post your treatment.
​
The treated area may feel slightly sensitive for 24 hours post treatment, this is expected. ​
